Casa Principal

Where it all began

Ancient watermill converted into a spacious three en suite bedroom house that embraces the river and the valley. This started out by being our private holiday home, which you can still sense in the decoration and photos on the walls. In the summer the patio in front of the water is the perfect place to be. On colder days the living room’s two fireplaces and dining table create the coziest atmosphere.

1

You easily reach Casa Principal by turning towards Zambujeira de Baixo on the southern side (Odeceixe side) of the Odeceixe bridge.

2

The road then follows the river upstream for 3 km; the first km is asphalt and the other two km are dirt roads in good condition.

3

When you see a wooden bridge just by the road on your left, with a hand-painted sign saying “Propriedade Privada”, cross that bridge with the car and follow the road about 200 m, cross a second bridge and turn left just after it. At the end of that road, some 100 m away, you reach the private parking of Casa Principal.

“This place is so beautiful and stunning. We loved every minute there.”
