Located in an amazing, lush, and untouched valley only 3 km from the little charming town Odeceixe and 5 km from the renowned beach Praia de Odeceixe, Monte West Coast is a divine place to enjoy nature, privacy, and rustic luxury in breathtaking and stylish surroundings.
Yoga classes
Twice a week we offer our guests a free yoga lesson, in the Moroccan tent by the river or by the pool. Private classes are also available. A unique experience!
Biking and hiking
There are several biking and hiking paths on the estate, some of them connecting directly to the overwhelmingly beautiful Rota Vicentina trekking routes. Mountainbikes are available for free and e-bikes for daily rental.
Massages
Thai massage, classical massage, and beauty treatments are available upon request in the Moroccan tent. Alternatively, the therapist can come to your house for the session.
Stand up paddle
In the charming river we have a little port with a canoe and SUPs at your disposal.
Saltwater pool
For relaxing and lazy days enjoying the luxury of the estate’s salt water pool and its stunning sundecks.
Animal farm
Visit the estate’s animals including goats, sheep, chicken, a dog, and a cat.
Beaches
Known for their dramatic beauty and excellent surf. The nearest beach is Praia de Odeceixe, only 5 km away. Nearby you also find Praia do Carvalhal outside Brejão, Praia Vale dos Homens outside Rogil, Praia da Arrifana and Praia da Amoreira, which you reach through the picturesque old town Aljezur, and Praia da Carrapateira and Praia do Amado a bit further south. Two of our favorite beaches are Carreagem and Vale Figueira.
Historical towns
In between Aljezur, Odeceixe, and Caldas de Monchique you have picturesque streets, whitewashed houses, little churches, thermal spring, and an old castle to explore
Local markets
To get the feeling of the local produce visit one of the traditional fish, vegetable, and fruit markets or the bigger farmer’s market where you can find the best of what the sea and land have to offer, as well as handicrafts.
Wine and medronho tasting
Visit vineries just around the corner or book a medronho tasting in one of the most recognized medronho distilleries in the country, located in the valley next to ours.
Trekking routes
Explore the world-famous Rota Vicentina trekking routes which pass just by the estate and continue towards the sea and the hills (www.rotavicentina.com). We especially recommend the stunning fisherman’s trail which runs through the cliffs parallel to the ocean.
Surf
Our coast provides some of the best waves in Portugal. Some beaches offer smaller waves, perfect for beginners, while others deliver mythic waves that are world famous among experienced surfers. Surf classes are easily organized for example at the Odeceixe, Arrifana, or Amado beach
Restaurants
We are real foodies and we happily share an extensive list of our best restaurant tips in the area! Here you find a bit of everything, mainly delicious fish and seafood, but other things like fine dining, tapas, plant-based meals, and pizzas are also on the menu!
Horse & donkey riding
Close by you find both horse and donkey riding, allowing you to explore the beautiful surroundings from a slightly different perspective. Occasionally we have horses staying on the estate and you can book a ride without even leaving the property.
